I think its about time I keep a running total of my favorite houses of all time.
I go through a ton of them- really… I probably get through about 15 houses a week on average… and this is just for work, these are houses where I am opening closets, looking for sump pumps, sizing up the garage, really wearing an analysts hat- NOT going over to a friends house for a beer or dropping one of the kids off at someones house for a play date, (or hang out as they prefer them to be called as big middle schoolers…)
Either way- I am going to break my top favs into economic groups just to be fair.
I will break them down in increments of basically half a million:
1) $500,000 and under
2) $500k – $999k
3) $1mm to $1.5mm
4) $1.5mm to $2mm
5) $2mm- $3mm
6) Above $3mm
6 total groups.
I am doing this because yesterday I walked through a house that I really loved at 610 Woodland in Hinsdale. Ask price is $2,249,000. Built in 1996- this house is unassuming from the street which I like. Don’t get me wrong- this house is awesome- but it does not scream look at me. It is set back from the street in the woodlands, and there is a stone turn around driveway in front. The layout, the basement, the library / office and the kitchen / family room were all exactly what I would want if I had $2.2 to drop on a house. One of the coolest features with this house is pretty simple- it is a spare room off the kitchen that basically is a huge walk in closet with shelves and counter space that acts as a prep area for the kitchen. This is my mind is brilliant.

Loved it- and I hope you do too!
